Hi Shannon!
Thanks for the heads up and THANKS for all the great work y'all are doing on this board! I can only imagine the amount of work and time it must take and all of us here appreciate it!

The web server WildTexas.com lives on is moving from a datacenter in the northeastern U.S. to closer-to-home--Dallas, Texas. It's not our doing, just a move our web host is making, but it means we might experience a little downtime next week. Hopefully not, since my web updates are grossly behind schedule as it is, but just a heads up in case any ceiling tiles fall on you while you're here. Wearing hardhats might be advisable until I sound the "all clear". That, or hitting the trails/campgrounds and coming back when the dust settles?
Thanks for the continued support, gang. I swear to goodness I have good things in store for WildTexas.com. I know it doesn't seem like a lot gets done around here, and in some ways that's true as of late, but it's not for a lack of love of the site nor a lack of plans. I joke that as soon as I can teach Sara to type I'm going to put her to work doing some minor coding for me here.

Thank you for the support -- it is much appreciated.
The community here on WildTexas.com is the reason I'm still sane even though I have not camped (tent) in far too long, and have probably seen my solo camping days end before the scarcely began. Through the lively and wonderful trip reports shared here, I get to live vicariously through everyone's travels and trips until Justin and I can get back to doing that more often.
We had a wonderful time with Sara overnight (2 nights) at Buescher State Park in mid-September, although we've been so busy we haven't done the obligatory trip report for it yet. We didn't do much hiking since it was our first real vacation with a then-6 month old, but it was great to enjoy the park and start exposing our wee one to the parks we love so well.

Seems like things are stabilizing her a little bit after our server migration. As I wrote on my blog, for awhile there it seemed like the lead bird of our flock (get it--migration? eh...) got a little off course.![]()

FYI, the site's dropped off the radar a couple times today. Could be the server still undergoing some migration-related maintenance, or could be my fault since I just applied a major software enhancement to the forums here. I don't smell smoke, so I'm assuming I didn't set anything on fire... yet.
