Good web siter for planning a view

The McDonald obsevatory has a star link site at
http://stardate.org/

If you want to see the upcoming moon phases its there
We use it for Merit badge work.

If you get to Davis Mountains State Park which is a great park, with nice trails and the restaurant is good too, go to the observatory too.

You're saying the state park itself has an observatory? Where is it?

I've been there several times, but have never seen it. I must have not been paying attention! :-)

Its also a short ride from Balmorhea and they have sun programs during the day

Duh - Sorry... I didn't read for comprehension! :-) I though you were saying there was an observatory in the park itself. I've been to McDonald Observatory a number of times - Love it.

Thanks.
