Looking for Ethenol-free gas!

Hi everyone. I am a newbie to the group. I have just bought my first boat. The owner's manual says not to use gasolines with ethenol added to them. I can not seem to find a gas station in the Plano area that does not use ethenol. Any suggestions on where I might find regular gas? Thanks in adance for any help.

Re: Looking for Ethenol-free gas!

Hi Tom and welcome aboard!

Though this message board isn't really intended to answer your qustion, I'm sure someone here should have some type of info on your subject. Best I can add is to call some local marinas and see if they supply ethenol-free fuel. Ethenol is getting to be pretty common and I suspect the marine industry will soon adapt their engines to run on it, if they haven't already. Pretty much the same problem that occured during the transition to lead-free fuel a few decades ago (if your old enough to remember this, as I am:rolleyes.

Hope this helps a bit and again, welcome aboard!

Happy Camping!

Re: Looking for Ethenol-free gas!

Tom
i would suspect the answer would be buying gas at a marina. If outboard motors are requiring that, they would have it. Problem with buying there is that they tend to be a lot more expensive than a station on the interstate. I do not question what the owners manual says, but do find it somewhat surprising.

Good luck

I'm not sure what part of Plano you are in but there is a boat shop off of Ave K (just N. of Plano Pkwy). Maybe go ask them where to buy the gas.
