Inland paddling trails/reviews?

I was wondering what experiences any of you might have had with the inland paddling trails. I'm particularly interested in knowing if it is better to plan on doing your own shuttling, i.e., at least a two vehicle trip, or if the available shuttles are reliable/user friendly. Of course, I'd also love to know about the paddling experience itself. Was it crowded? Did you see much wildlife, etc.?

Re: Inland paddling trails/reviews?

I've done the Luling Trail. We were a good sized group so we had a lot of cars. BEing a river you might think sit back and do nada. Wrong. The last two miles was like sitting in a bath tub. You had to paddle to go.

After we were done we hit Central Market in Luling for BBQ.

Would I do this trip again? Yep.
