Boerne City Lake report

Took the kayak out for a nice morning paddle around Boerne City Lake today. Cloud cover and a good breeze kept it all comfortable and there weren't many people on the water, so it was very enjoyable.

For those who don't know, there are no gas powered watercraft permitted on the lake, so it's a good place to just paddle around, do some sailing, fishing or swimming.
I did get "pulled over" by the Texas Game Warden for my first time ever. He was just doing his job checking PFD's and fishing permits/gear. Just a reminder to everyone because they are out there enforcing this. He must of thought me suspicious because I was just about laughing after he summoned me over to his kayak. The thought of a "high speed" kayak chase was just too funny to me... Splash, splash, splash... "Skiing speed... Whoo!.." "Hey you, get back here!"
I guess he'd a been and I'd have been after that, but it was a fun thought.

Anyhew.. lake is down of course due to the drought. About 8-9 feet as far as I can tell.

Here's some pics:

Have fun out there and stay safe!

I've been "pulled over" there on my kayak too! I also laughed and asked how fast I was going! The game wardens are always so nice and helpful. I'm glad they are showing themselves. Keep the parks safe for everyone.

Haven't been to Boerne City in a long time. How does the park look now? last time I was there they had taken out the public restrooms because of vandalism, but the park looked great and well kept up.

The park is pretty nice now. Better than it was in the past. It has permanent bathrooms, a pavillion, playground, disc golf course, picnic tables and bbq pits. It does have an entry fee ($8 for non Boerne residents... I kinda balked at this at first, but hey.. I'd blow that on a fast food lunch or movie ticket. Much rather spend it on a day out on the water.) and curfew restrictions. Its a good place for a family day out picnic and play in the water type thing.

Wow, $8.00 is kinda stiff for a day trip. Afraid I would have to pass on that considering it would be anywhere from 2 to 4 of us. Glad to hear they are putting the money to good use though. it was a pretty park and a good place to spend the day.

Non-Residents:
Monday - Thursday:
$5 per vehicle up to 4 individuals in car
$2 per each individual over 4 per vehicle.
Fri day- Sunday and Holidays:
$8 per vehicle up to 4 individuals
$2 per each individual over 4 per vehicle.

Looks like your whole crew could come in for the money.

Whew! That's a nice deal then. Would defiantly spend that kind of money to spend the day there, especially with the improvements they have made to the park. To bad they don't give a discount for the stake park pass! ha ha
