Trailer question Should we get a Spare

Our Coyote hybrid did not come with a spare, and after having a flat on site wondering if anyone else added a spare after buying?

Do others rely on AAA or other such folkes for repairs?

Tire was fixed in one hour

(Our Coyote is a 23 ft and I guess the spare was an option we overlooked, but we never had tire problems for 7 years with the pop-up. That spare was never even opened)

Re: Trailer question Should we get a Spare

I would never leave home without a good spare for both the TV and the trailer. Also, since we've had the "5th", we've had road service and have used it once to take care of a flat on the trailer. Waaaay easier then trying to do it myself:thumbsup:!

We have been with Coach-Net for 4 years and are about to renew for another three. They all offer about the same thing as far as services go so you can base you choice on price. Basic coverage should be around $75 per year but you can pay more if you want more "frills". If you always camp near home (about 100 miles), I'm not sure if this would really be needed but it is good to have. Hope this helps and,

Both my pop-up and my hybrid had or have a spare. Luckily neither have ever been used. Now when it does happen, I will be the knuckle buster doing the swap out.

Re: Trailer question Should we get a Spare

I like turnkey (TK) would not even attempt to change a tire on the trailer. I may compare coach net to AAA when my AAA is due in October.

We do not do many long trips but it still comes down to, if we have one flat and it can't be repaired on site, we have to hope someone has the tire in stock or wait. Or we get a spare and a place to mount it and then at least we can keep going if the flat tire is in dire need.

Interested in more opinions and thanks TK

and rockhill you might reconsider that after I saw it done

We have been very lucky on Pup and TT,we have only had 1 flat on the road and it was on TT a easy fix having dual axles and I changed it in Walmart parking lot in Bastrop.I belong to AAA and have never had to call ,Dw has used the service for flats and battery. We always have spares for trailers and feel better that we know, just in case, we have it.Dw had to lend pup tire to one of her friends when hers went flat on way to camp on a ladies only trip.Even just a can of fix a flat gives you some backup.Services such as AAA are well worth it and help many people daily,as for a spare tire ,yes ,we will always be ready.

I have had a few blowouts on my current trailer. Two on one trip ! Buy yourself a spare and also get a four way lug wrench. Check your tires before each trip. Look for any bad spots and make sure each tire is properly inflated. My son and his best friend started to look like a nascar pit crew on that one trip. Be safe and be prepared.

We went ahead and ordered a spare tire and a wheel. Now hopefully we will not need it.

Also bought a fix a flat can and upgradded AAA to include the trailer. May need a boat to carry us now to go through Iowa or Illlinois

The 2008 Coyote spare is included in the price so we missed out as 2007 was an option.
