Best Lens Choice for Money

Hi, I'm getting back into photography after a short hiatus and am looking to specialize in outdoor photography. As a consequence I'm keeping my gear selections light. I've started with a Nikon N65 and am looking at what the best choice for the money on a zoom lens for outdoor work, would be. Looking at the Nikon 75-300 4 to 5.6 G series but would welcome suggestions. The other lens I'm considering since most of my work is going to be around flyfishing scenes and not necessarily wildlife, is the Nikon IX 60-180 because its lightweight and the 180 end should be just enough. Tough decision, need any help that can be provided.
My email addy is wlwalter77@hotmail.com.

I usually mainly focus on outdoor photography and I always seem to need the zoom when I don't have it. I usually use a Canon EF 28-135 for general outdoors. This lens gives me the short length to be able to capture some nice landscapes while offering some telephoto. But in my opinion, when shooting outdoors it is best to have the longest lens possible. I can't give any recommendations on Nikon lenses because I have never really looked at them. But I have heard a bunch of good things about Sigmas 50-500 lenses.
