Tyler State Park

Hello all,

I am glad I happened onto this site. I have found alot of good information on here. Anyway, some friends and I went to Tyler State Park this past weekend and other than being a little chilly it was a great weekend for camping. Last time I was there (last summer/fall) they had some of the restrooms being remodeled (torn down actually). Well, those are rebuilt now and are very nice. They now have the toilet area on one end (in the mens there are two stalls and two urinals) and on the other end they have four individuals shower rooms. Three of those are men or women and one is labeled for handicap. The showers have a dressing room in them divided by a concrete wall from the shower. This makes for a great private shower and will be even better for takeing the kids to shower and not worrying about them wandering around while the parents are showering.
The park was very nice as always and it is already starting to get crowded (at least in the trailer areas). There were a few people in the shelter area and the tent only sites, but not a whole lot. It looks like they might be trying to clear out some of the more than abundant wood and brush as there were several piles laying around the park. I did not ask the ranger about it, I just figured they might be getting it spruced up the spring.
My family and I are going to Cooper South Sulpher this weekend with another family and the weather looks like it is going to be great. We were up there in January and had a great time. It won't be to long until we get back to camping about every other weekend. We are going to try several new parks this year and like I said, I am glad I found this site. You really have good information about all the parks.

Happy camping,
TexasCamper_01
