Tubing on the Guadalupe River

Hi, I'm KELP, a new member of Wild Texas. Wild Texas looks like a great site, but I haven't seen a thing about Guadalupe River Tubing anywhere on the site. The whole Canyon Lake area and Guadalupe River are crawling with Tubers and no one is talking about it! Well I recently went tubing on the well known and popular Horseshoe Loop with an Outfitter called River Sports Tubes.com. They have a very complete Web site and my friends and I had a great time 'tubin the Loop' and going on their "Long" float. Their staff covered in great detail every part of our float so we could enjoy the whole float without any surprises...we had a great time! If anyone is interested, their Web site is: riversportstubes.com. Our next goal is to tube somewhere further down river, but we are not sure where to go for the best excitement and great tubing. We think we want to tube all the way to Gruene...any suggestions?

KELP

Hi KELP,
Welcome aboard! I'm sure you'll find what you need here. Pretty good site!

Guess you just didn't dig quite deep enough . Here's a couple of site references that will get you to a very long review about our last trip down to Guadalupe State Park and surrounding area. Talked about tubing a bit but it was a bit cold for that sort of thing. Hope you find the info on Gruene of some help.

Hope you get a bit out of my ramblings and again, welcome to Wild Texas!

Thanks, Turn Key, for providing that assistance to KELP. And for all your terrific trip reports, as well!

It's the folks here in the forums, like you Turn Key, who are keeping things active, up-to-date and informative and I'm grateful you've all found a "virtual home" here. Most of you know by now that I've been busy for the better part of the past year starting up a photography business, and that's meant a marked reduction in trip reports and new park profiles posted by myself or Justin. I promise that will change in due time. After all, outdoor photography is all ABOUT getting out and exploring!

Just wanted to put in a few words in what seemed to be an opportune thread.

 If anyone sees something lacking in Wild Texas, it's pretty easy to address that by adding your own content -- either messages in the forums, like Turn Key's and others' trip reports, or photos uploaded to the Your Photos gallery. You all have the power!
