ROAD TRIP! (need suggestions)
Howdy, folks. I'll be making a major road trip from Houston to Colorado in about one month. So far I know that I want to start my trip by going to the Kerrville Music Festival for a weekend. From there, I want to head up to Palo Duro SP for a day or two before heading west into New Mexico.
So I need help figuring out a park to stop at and camp on the way from Kerrville to Palo Duro. (I have three small kids with me, and I'm not going to drive more than 4-5 hours per day, so I need to break up the trip into lots of small segments.) Does anyone have any comments or suggestions about these state parks:
Lake Brownwood
Abilene
San Angelo
Big Spring
Lake Colorado City
I figure we'll stay at one of these, but I'm not sure which. Thanks in advance for sharing your experiences and suggestions!
