Ray Roberts Lake SP Isle Du Bois Unit 9/30/07
For a nice park just 1 hour away from North Dallas, Ray Roberts SP does a great job. It has something for everyone, nice beach with picnic tables, some covered and most have grills (hmm those burgers smell good on a windy day) and a boat ramp, a 4 1/2 mile paved bike trail in the park, equestrain trails, a nice bike/hike greenbelt (about 10 miles of good surface, not paved but its a nice ride) the greenbelt runs along a river that has canoe access to the Elm Fork of the Trinity with 3 take in/out spots)
Sites in Quail run have little shade for trailers and tents but a nice view of the Lake, Deer Ridge has more shaded areas and we stay there more often than not.
The walk in sites were busy, both are a nice long walk in so be prepared.
Park has 115 sites with water and electric and was basically full with nice nights this fall.
If you need a group pavillionfor the day they have more than one that are right along the lake with double grills at both areas.
Restrooms were clean but busy. DW wonders how all those young girls can take a 1 hour shower and then want more. Overall if you live in North Texas, its easy to there and a popular place to relax by the lake.
