Quintana beaches

We used to go to Surfside when we were young and less demanding but age changes a lot of things. I need some info for those in the know. We are talking about going down for a day visit and would like to know, where is the best place to go that has some conveniences, restrooms, possibly a shower house, that kind of thing. We will take our own food and drink but it would be nice to have a shower before heading home. I looked on the Net and saw places to camp but we, for now, want to do a day trip. Any suggestions?

I can not answer your question but your post brought back a lot of memories. Nearly 40 years ago I spent, or should I say wasted, my youth at Quintana and Surfside. Can not recall ever worrying about available facilities then, but I was overdosing on testerone and intoxicated by fumes, (gasoline and perfume) at the time...
A day trip would certainly make my brain cells try and recall those times...

I know what you mean, Rockhill. Bushy, bushy blonde hairdos.........Fun, fun, fun. I never could hang ten. Hey, I was hard pressed to put ten anywhere on the board....front, middle or back.

I finally settled for body surfing.

Re: Quintana beaches

OK, ploddinTod and Rockhill, if I get to the beach and I see two mature guys acting like 16 year olds, I will know who I am watching. That's OK, best thing about getting older is not caring what I look like when I am having fun.

Re: Quintana beaches

Sandy the only bath houses and decenct restrooms on Quintana are at the Quintana County Beach Park,1-800-872-7578 .Surfside has some open showers at the Jetties for washng saltwater off and restrooms, and at Stahlman Park their are some rinse of showers. And coming from Surfside coin showers at car wash for rinsing off.City of Freeport took over Bryan Bach but they haven't added showers yet.
