    Potter's Creek Park, Canyon Lake

I was looking at making Potter's Creek our next camping destination. Has anyone gone tent camping there? Is it a good park? Which sites are the best for water access?

We really enjoyed Potters Creek and if I remember right we stayed at #45 -43,very nice spots on the water, bathhouses were very clean, park was kept clean, good swimming, great fishing. We were in pup 1st trip,2nd trip we were in TT and daughter was in her tent.We went to check this park out when everyone had to run from Hurricane Rita,We went back in the fall and had a great trip,we went back in the summer and would recommend it .They had floods last summer but I heard it was all up and running .The fishing was really good, not to for from stores and spots to go tubing.Be sure and take firewood,it was pricey at the lake.We plan on going this summer for 5 days.

Well, we just got back from Potters Creek and we will definitely be going back!

We stayed in Campsite 122 which was right on the water. There is a good distance between tent campsites (about 50 ft) and the sites are HUGE! You can strike your tent anywhere from the road (with your own private parking spots) to the Lake, which was about 150 ft away. The lake is only down about 3 feet right now so the water level is great. The Camp Hosts and CCSD are serious about the quiet hours after 10pm rule.

The winds were a little high this past weekend but it kept everything from getting insanely hot. The water is shallow right off of the point and you have a great view of the entire lake. The bathrooms were clean and nice, and the park itself was very clean and well maintained. And all of this for only $28!

    Big thumbs up!

i havn't been there in years, all of canyon lake had become overcrowded with partyers. if you don't drink anymore you don't want to be around anyone who drinks too much, so i quite going. i'm glad to hear that they have cleaned up and seem to be a good park again.
