Port Aransas Beach update

Hi, we'll be going to Port Aransas this week and I'm wondering if there's any way to find out how much seaweed is on the beach this time of year (late July, early August) We always go down there over Memorial Day Weekend and there is always A LOT of seaweed during that time. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks!

I've got a bunch of friends who just got back this week, so I'll ask tomorrow and post then.

Sorry, I have had a tough time getting ahold of anyone! One friend said the seaweed wasn't bad at all, there was some, but not too bad. Have a nice trip!!!

Re: Port Aransas Beach update

You can always call the Padre Island National Seashore automated weather telephone number. It includes information, updated daily, on beach driving conditions -- including seaweed and Portuguese Man o-War jellyfish presence/abundance.

The telephone number to the automated weather/conditions line is:
(361) 949-8175

If you need/want to speak to a park official, call their Visitor Information line at
(361) 949-8068

Re: Port Aransas Beach update

We were out there Sunday, did not see that much seaweed. Port A beach was alot cleaner weed/trash wise than Corpus was, but thats normal.
