On our way out of Austin to visit LS in Stephenville at the college, we stopped for some time at Pedernales Falls SP.
Pedernales Falls State Park is located just east of Johnson City, and just 32 miles West of Austin. It is located of course along the banks of the Pedernales River.
The park reminded us a lot of Dinosaur Valley SP and was in a drought in October 2008.
Facilities included 58 sites with water and electricity; a sponsored youth group area, hike-in primitive campsites (2 mile minimum); picnic sites; clean restrooms and 19 plus miles of hiking and mountain biking trails. The Wolf Mountain Trail is popular among hikers, backpackers, and mountain bikers. NOT sure I would hike without good boots there see the warning sign in the pictures.
Park had the most tents in sites we have seen in a long time, maybe timing. Very few
rv vehicles of any kind when we wondered through. For a short picture tour
