Parks with Cliffs/ropes to jump from?

My son enjoyed Garner SP mainly because of the rope swings. Go figure. Anyway, it's 5 hours from me (Houston-ish area) so was looking for anything a little closer to camp at with either cliffs/rocks to jump from or rope swings? Suggestions, please!

Only place I can think to suggest is The Devils Waterhole at Inks Lake State Park. Don't believe it will be closer for you but it is nice. Here's a link to some pix:

There is/was a rope swing on the far side of the river at Guadalupe River State Park. It was at the west end of the "Day Use" area but I don't believe it was something the park had anything to do with. May not even be there by now.

Hope this helps and happy camping!

Thanks for the reply! Once we went to Canyon Lake when my brother had his boat. We went out to an island where there were HUGE cliffs, camped all day & my son jumped off the cliffs & loved it. You know, he's a boy -- 'let's see what I can do that will ALMOST kill me.....' !!

If this place is still open, it would be my bet. No cliffs, but I would think it would have a rope swing.

Been there. It's really nice. we spent the day there & had a picnic. No rope swings; however, a junked boat set up in the center to jump off of!
