Hi! I'm so glad I found this board. I'm Heather & live in Cypress, Tx. I love to camp with my family (DH & 2 boys 5yo & 2yo). It is so awesome to get them away from the tv & out in nature exploring. We have a pop up camper and will be heading out on our first trip of the season this weekend! I can't wait.
Look forward to chatting with everyone!
Heather

Hi Heather!
I'm new here too, but already love it. Great people and info here!
Where are you going this weekend?

Thanks for the welcome!
We are going to Galveston Island SP. I hope it will be mostly families at the state park since it is the start of Spring Break for a lot of school districts in our area...hopefully not to many wild groups. I can't wait to get out of town!

There were quite a few tent campers the two times I have been. I personally LOVE Galveston's state park. I'm a beachy kinda person so if you love the beach, it is great. They keep it very clean. I will say there is no shade since there aren't any trees, so keep that in mind. We have an awning on our pop up, so that helps.
The campsites are very close to the beach so you can walk right to it. They have boardwalks periodically along the beach to crossover. It's nice that you are so close but you can get away from the sand if you want & you're not bringing too terribly much sand back with you to your campsite.
I will for sure post a report when we get back.

Welcome !
For a great day trip for you and the family,
Jesse Jones Park in North Harris County is fun if you haven't been
Harris County Precinct Four
They do boat rides up Spring creek looking for birds and animals. It has easy walking trails and an Indian Village also
