Martin Creek Lake SP

The family and I went to Martin Creek Lake SP this past weekend and had a great time. This was our first time to visit this park and here is what my feelings are on it. The park is pretty good size and the campsites are far enough apart to make it comfortable. There was only one area that I saw where the campsites backed up to each other and it did look a little crowded. We stayed at a site that backed up to the water and it had plenty of room for the kids to play and of course ride their bikes. The restroom/shower facilities were kept clean and decent size. The only problem was the water heater couldn't keep up with the demand. Not real surprising since the entire park was completely full and everyone wanted to take a shower prior to turning in for the night. The day use area was a nice place with several covered tables and a grill at each one. The swimming area was nice and pretty big. Even at it's peek it never seemed crowded. They have a nice playground for the kids to play on that seemed well maintained and plenty of parking for both the campers and the day use boat ramp users. By the boat ramp there is a bridge that leads to an island that is used for tent camping only. These sites are good size and most of them are right on the water. They all have a grill, fire ring, and lantern hook. If I still did much tent camping this would be a nice place for me and the kids to go. We met some really nice people there and feel like if it wasn't quite as far from home this would make our list of favorite parks to visit. Hope everyone that got to go camping this weekend had as much fun if not more than we did.

Re: Martin Creek Lake SP

Thanks for taking the time to post your trip report. It certainly helps those of us who have not been to have a better idea of what to expect.
