Landa Park, New Braunfels - any info?
Curious if anyone has stayed at Landa Park on the Comal River in New Braunfels. What did you think? or Might camp there after playing at Schlitterbahn.

I went once, I think last year. For the life of me I cannot remember why I was disappointed. Maybe the river was dry. Maybe Landa Park is not on the River. Maybe the park was full. I have no idea. However, I do remember I was disappointed. I do hope, however, that your experience turns out to be better than mine. Let us know how it goes.

Re: Landa Park, New Braunfels - any info?
To my knowledge, Landa Park does not have camping facilities. It's a nice place for a picnic and there are some nice sections of the comal river for swimming, as well as a swimming pool, a great playground for the kids and a narrow gauge train. Even if there were camping facilities there, it's right in the middle of town. Wouldn't be my cup of tea, anyway.
There's an RV park right across the Comal river from the Wurstfest grounds, very close to Schlitterbahn and Landa Park. Don't know anything about it, but I'm not an RVer either.
There are some private campgrounds out along the Guadalupe River west of town. I haven't stayed at any of them in years, but you could Google it, and then there are several Corps of Engineers parks out on Canyon Lake ranging from about 18 - 30 miles from town. I haven't stayed at any of those in over 25 years and have no idea what kind of shape they're in.
If you don't mind driving a bit further, Guadalupe River State Park is a nice place. I think it's about 40 - 45 miles west of New Braunfels along Hwy 46.

Re: Landa Park, New Braunfels - any info?
Based on New Braunfels site Landa Park has no camping (nbtexas.org) New Braunfels, TX - Official Website - Landa Park
but Landa RV & campground does Landa RV & Campground
2 COE parks in Canyon Lake, (Canyopn Park and Crane's Mill)both on FM 306, thank Shannon for the link Wild Texas Parks: Canyon Lake Parks - Canyon Lake, TX
We stayed up river in the pop-up (when we had it) at another park that was private but I can not think of its name.

Aha! That's the place across the Comal from the Wurstfest grounds. Here's the link:
Landa RV & Campground
It's not officially part of the park. Guess it's privately owned.

Oops! Guess I'm a day late and a dollar short. Troop198 had already posted the link.
Sorry for inadvertantly overlooking your post Troop198!

Re: Landa RV & Campground, New Braunfels-any info?
Sorry for leading everyone astray with the title 'Landa Park', which has no camping as you have figured out. I should have made sure that I used the real name, 'Landa RV & Campground'. Before I posted the question I visited their website and found the details. It is located right downtown, next to the railroad track, but is on the Comal River and a tube will float right to Schlitterbahn.
Was mainly curious if anyone in the Wild Texas world had stayed there and might be able to fill us in on what it was like.
