The State Park is nice and there really isn't anything wrong with it. We prefer Sites 1-51 (less Sites 39-48). Shaded and some are FHU. Would suggest getting one that is WE in this area. Sewer hook-ups were added after the park was built and the job was not done well. Sewer connections were placed on the wrong side of the sites. Does not work well. There are a number of WE sites on the lake and some are very nice. The one I'd use would be #105. It's on a point jutting into the lake and the site is very large.
For my money, I'd go to McCown. Very nice park and it costs less. Here's a site reference to a review I did. Hope it helps.

The pictures linked to the review show the swimming beach. Though the park has a very nice beach, the lake is way down and it doesn't look to be recovering any time soon.
Hope this helps and you have a great trip. Feel free to e-mail or post if you have any other questions.
Happy Camping!
