Lake Tawakani State Park review

Loking a for a nice spot to swim, fish or sit in the shade. Tawakani does a nice job of all three. Located about 50 miles east of Dallas near Willis Point, Texas the park was quiet this dry weekend in July. (It was full of campers with tents, pop ups and trailers all scattered around.) Water was warm, evenings were cool by July Texas standards (75 or so)and mosquitos were almost not there. For those who have not been in a while they are building a second restroom near sites 20 -22 so you don't need to take the walk over the bridge soon. The park has 70+ sites with water and electric,a beach, picnic sites and a boat ramp.
Next time in North Texas try it out.
