Question Lake Somerville SP

Hey there everyone!

Planning our next trip and somehow this SP popped onto my radar...

Has anyone camped at Lake Somerville SP or one of the Corp of Engineer parks around the lake? What are they like? How are the campsites at the SP? Do they offer some privacy/shade or are u right on top of your neighbors? How do you rate it? Worth the trip??

Any insight would be fantastic!!

Thanks in advance,
Snuz

Re: Lake Somerville SP

Sunshine, Lake Sommerville has many good parks. It has been a while since I was there. But, back in my youth, I almost lived at Birch Creek. We were there every weekend and more during the summer. Birch sites are mostly in the woods, plenty of shade. In the summer, getting a breeze can be a problem. The youpon camping area has alot of open sites that are close to the water. Check out the parks and wildlife site for more info on the park.
Rocky Creek used to be a popular place to camp. Most of the sites were very close to the water. In the spring bring along your bug spray and check for ticks !! I don't want to turn you away, just be prepared. Somerville holds many good memories for me. Good luck and enjoy.

Thanks 4everfrio!
We're still trying to decide our next destination but everything I've read about this place looks good so far. ( If we go I will definitely have the deet and be on the look out for ticks!)
