Jellystone Parks?

I know they aren't *exactly* WILD Texas but I thought my son/niece might like it. Anyone ever camped at one? I was happy to see when I looked them up that the ONLY one in Texas is about 45 minutes from me.....

Re: Jellystone Parks?

Hi, I'm new here and loving this site!

A friend of mine has been there for tent camping, but I believe it was before the water park was built (that looks pretty cool). She said it seemed like there wasn't much privacy at all to the sites, and it certainly looks that way from the virtual tour. I'll ask her and post back with a more complete report.

She's kinda sensitive about privacy with sites, doesn't like to be crammed in with all the RV's or right up next to other tents, and I do agree. She was real down on us going to Inks next week for that reason, but she got out-voted, so Inks, here we come!

I'll post more soon!

Re: Jellystone Parks?

I checked with my friend and she said it's been about 3 years since she's been to Jellystone. She liked it. They were there with VERY little kids, so it was fun for them, saw Yogi, etc, and it was before the water park was built which does look cool. She said the guys didn't like it that much - probably because there wasn't much to do for them (tubing, fishing, boating, etc). But, it looks to me like if you have small kids it might be a fun place to try.

Campermom, we'll be at Inks the 31st-2 so we'll miss eachother. I was trying to avoid a weekend! It's my 1st time going to Inks and we have a 5yo and a 21mo. Looking forward to it, but not the blazing heat !!!

Is that the Jellystone out by Waller?? I guess it has to be. We were there about 9 years ago.
The sites were crammed but not as bad as most stack em and pack em parks. The had old tire rims at the sites where you could have a fire.
A fishing lake and small store.
Characters did not work when we were there.

We did meet a guy from Maryland whos had just been informed his daughter won that states lottery. That was kinda nice but he has probably gone

There was no water park when we were there? Might be nice ofr the kiddos...I'm sure that's the only reason you would go?

It is absolutely wonderful for the children. It's under new management and the water park is great, yogi bear, hay rides, outdoor movie theater, petting zoo, fishing and very clean and supervised.

Re: Jellystone Parks?

I have three children under the age of six and we really enjoy it. We've been twice this year since they remodled and have new owners. My borther and I put the RV's door to door and hang out while the wife and kids do the water park, ect. For a young family it's hard to beat. We go RVing once a month and this is the only place we've hit twice this year and will go a couple more times this summer I'm sure. I give it four out of Five stars for RVers with kids under the age of 12yrs.
