Inks Lake State Park Cabin Location & Fishing

Hello Everyone!

My wife, 2 children, and another family will be staying in the cabins at Inks Lake State Park this coming June. Which cabin location is the best?

Additionally, is anyone able to describe the fishing there?

I appreciate it!

Re: Inks Lake State Park Cabin Location & Fishing

Everybody has their favorite spot, mine is #6 -7 large spots, good spot for boat, they are nice for a 2 family campout. If you don't have a map you can print one under the Wild Texas logo under Parks.Since you will be with another family #9-10-11.good size spot for boats(wade out and look for large rocks bellybutton deep) at #11 right side.Cabins #1-2-3-4-5 are smaller spots right next to one another across from newest bath house/restrooms.Lots of road noise, good swimming ,good spot for boats.Near to play area also. The only bad thing is they are first come first serve bases. As for as fishing in June stirpers in early mourn on top water lures and dusk top waters-grubs-bluegills all day long, catfish in deeper water on shad-bloods-worms.Bass under docks and in deeper part of lake behind #336 up to park road 4,boat or yaks are better there.Be sure and bring your bedding for cabins and if you don't grill ,something to cook on.Bring firewood if there is'nt a fire ban, pretty expensive at park.Hope this helps a little, hope you have a great time.Welcome to Wild Texas
