Ok, I'm back now:
This place is the best we've been to here in
TX yet!
There are oodles of sites (water, water & elec, cabins, and
RV sites). We stayed in #314 right on the lake & except for an especially vocal (and loud) wetland creature, enjoyed it very much. The noise at night (Memorial weekend) was predominantly from this little reptile hiding oin the reeds, but we also had a little racket outta some nearby neighbors, but only once.

It was dry all weekend, so we slept each night with no rainfly---yippee!!!! The sites in our area were well spaced, but I can't say that about the water-elec sites closer to the Devil's waterhole. The waterhole was our salvation as it was fun and exciting (not to mention a welcome cooling reprieve), and my 9 YO son loved the jumping cliffs! Gotta swim there, ya'll!!!!
The restrooms were busy, but kept clean and stocked adequately. The park store is great and the rentals for kayaks, canoes and pedal boats were popular. They even had a local band there that played folk musc that Friday evening we arrived.

The nearest big store for groceries was HEB in Burnet (9miles). The park store does carry ice and incidental grocery items (firewood, too), but they're REALLY high. Bring your own firewood if at all possible.
The trails are nice, from what I saw....but it was way too hot to hike really.
We liked this place a lot and would like to return...just maybe with a water-elec site this time. :P
