My husband and I are planning a 2 week motorcycle getaway down in the Hill Country area the first 2 weeks in September. We went last year and had a blast! This year we are returning to a couple of our favorite spots and adding a few new ones to the schedule. We head out Friday morning Aug 31 and get home Saturday afternoon/evening Sept 15:

3 nights at Koyote Ranch outside Bandera <New to us
3 nights at Garner SP <New to us
3 nights at Full Moon Inn BnB in Luckenbach (I am too old to spend the whole time camping in a tent!)
2 nights at Blanco SP <New to us
2 nights at Enchanted Rock
2 nights at Inks Lake

Reservations have all been made and now we are just planning the daily - and nightly - excursions. Since we are on a motorcycle it goes without saying that we have planned several rides during the daytime but we are always looking for those little "hole in the wall" places to eat, listen to music, tour, taste, experience, etc. Suggestions?

Be sure to stop and have a hamburger at Storms in Marble Falls/Kingsland/Burnet if you get a chance.We like the onion rings too.

Be sure to do the Willow City Loop which is in the vicinity of Enchanted Rock SP. It's a beautiful area.

I'll second the stop at Storms. Gooood hamburgers and fries.
At Garner, make the loop from garner to utopia up to vanderpool across to leakey and back to garner. The scenery is fantastic. Can't help you on joints, we vegitate at Garner when there. Been gone from there two weeks now and missing it so much.

Will have to try Storms for burgers & rings. Since we are on a motorcycle we "eat on the road" and have found that the best arrangement is to eat a good breakfast and then an early dinner. We have eaten at Storms for breakfast but will have to see if we can work in a dinner there.

Willow City Loop is always on the schedule. It is beautiful no matter what time of year but especially the spring when the wildflowers are blooming. We were down that way in mid-April (one of the cold snap weekends!) and rode the Loop. The aroma was intoxicating!

A trip to Vanderpool is already planned to see the Motorcycle Museum there. I will make sure that we include the "Garner Loop".

Take 337 from Garner to Vanderpool/Utopia. It is one of the prettiest stretches of road in the area. Very curvy and lots of ups and downs. I would imagine a motorcycle ride there would be awesomely exciting. Just be careful! The Lost Maples Cafe in Utopia has some of the best food you'd ever want to eat! Ride on over to Lost Maple State Natural Area for a quick look see. Stretch your legs on the Maple Trail (very short but sweet "hike" along the beginnings of the Sabinal River). Also, there is a motorcycle museum of sorts not too far from LMSNA. I believe they have eats there, too, but have never stopped there.
To make it an all day thing, keep heading north, after stopping at LMSNA, on 187. Hit 39, head west to 83 then south through Leakey back to Garner.



editted because I didn't see your post about the Garner Loop! Oops...but maybe the stops I mentioned are a new idea.
