I'm planning to go to Guadalupe Mountains National Park on March 5. Although the rangers say March is the busiest month, and we might have trouble getting a site. I've checked, however, and the vast majority of Spring breaks (public schools & colleges) are March 13 or the week after that. I'm wondering if anyone has experience at GMNP in March. Especially during weeks that were not one of the 2 most prevalent Spring Weeks (for whatever year the trip was taken).

I showed up at GMNP the first week in March 1973. There was two feet of snow in the backcountry. We didn't get in. Went a few years later in May. A bit warm during the afternoons, and a tad cool at night, but mostly fine. You must carry all your water, in case no one mentioned it.
