Thumbs up Glacier National Park Day 3 (July 2009)

We started day three at the Swiftcurrent Motor Inn. The Swiftcurrent room had two beds lots of room, a full bath two dressers and a closet and two chairs.Loved the extra space even if your not there most of the time.
Finally was a sunny day !

Headed off on the trails in the Many Glacier area. First hike was up Swiftcurrent Pass past the lakes and red rock falls.
Saw some deer along the way, was hoping for moose though. Hiked up and back and then had sandwiches out of the cooler.

We then headed over to the Many Glacier lodge (a real nice place although the rooms are much more $$ and based on the few we saw open much smaller)

We took the boat Chief Two Guns across Swiftcurrent Lake, took a small hike up and down (around 400 yards) to Lake Josephine and then took that boat, the Morning Eagle, across the lake heading towards Grinnel Glacier. We hit the trails. We had to cross a hanging bridge was was very interesting with a sore foot. After the lake we headed back to the two boats. Saw a grizzley from the boat Had dinner at the Two Sisters cafe near St. Mary, had huckleberry pie !!! The extra cabin pictures are the inexpensive rooms, like a tent no restroom in them but have beds and a sink
Pie for strenght is my new motto !
