If unparalleled scenery

and the opportunity to see the wildlife is your notion of a great vacation spot, then Glacier is your kind of park. The national park web site and an excellent chat page are real good places to get information.
I planned our hikes and such for months, planning extras for those lazy days or bad weather days. We wanted to see the flowers, the mountains the melting snow, yes you are in the mountains so a few glaciers are there also
As is wildlife and lots of quiet time on the trail. The trails go from paved to extreme climbs, you choose your level or just find a place to stroll to. The glacier blue waters dazzle your eyes.
Started the second day at Lake McDonald Lodge Cabins. It was not the best day to go east, rain was here and there, did get a few shoots at The Loop and did see Big Horn sheep at the Pass and some winter snow and some rain.
Continued on the road and when we hit The St. Marys Falls area it was dry so we stopped to take the hike up to the St. Mary and Virginia falls. That first bear warning sign is something, we sang for the bears but then realized didn't know what music they liked so gave up on that. Stopped here and there for pictures before a long stop at the St. Mary visitor center. The Osprey's (large nest at the visitor center)were feeding and making lots of noise, which was fun to see. Watched a film at the center, got some map info and then headed north. Along the way made sure we noted pie destinations (later on that) and then heading into the Many Glacier area Spending the night atr the Swiftcurrent motel in the park. links to two slide shows
