I want to take my boys bass fishing and am considering Canyon Lake in San Antonio. Is this a good place for bass in mid February? Which of the parks around the lake would be good for this?

Also, it does not have to be Canyon Lake. Where's the best bass fishing in February in the San Antonio area?

We live in Chicago and my boys are 14 & 12.

Well ive never fished Canyon, but if you have never been there is a pretty deep, open, lake with rocky bottoms. Depending on the temp it might get cold on this lake because it is always windy and choppy.

Medina Lake is more secluded and has some shallow muddy coves. I go there a lot and see a lot of people pulling out nice fish. There are hills and cliffs all around, so it is very calm and not much a breeze along the shores.

Though since you are from Chicago, I dont think our Texas temps are gonna kill yall :laugh:
