The park staff will undoubtedly ask you to do just that (leave the dog at home), but you can take your chances despite explicit knowledge that dogs are not permitted in the nature preserve.

Just a few things:

leave your dog at home - access is by metal stairs and dogs don't like them

do not go for a few days after a rain - runoff from ranch contaminates pool

i was there with a man who decided he needed to jump from the ledge - i had to save him and then get him up the stairs and to the hospital (compressed disks in his back).
