Angry Friedrich Park

It is unfortunate the park is not dog friendly. Being so close to my house, I would love to take my puppy for a hike. I guess I will try other parks!

Frederick Wilderness Park is just that, a wilderness area. I have hiked all of it's trails several times and appreciate the fact that it is not "pet friendly". Not because I don't like dogs, I love them, unfortunately (not necessarily you) many dog owners are careless and do not adhere to leave no trace standards. I have seen people let their dogs defecate on trails (and leave it) or let them run free through the woods at the park. An alternetive park in San Antonio is McAllister Park on Jones-Maltsberger, there are lot's of trails for walking your dog.
Sincerely,
Justin

Question Park history

I really enjoy Friedrich park!! On the west side of the park there is a really old looking fence line made of rocks that runs parallel with the western part of the Vista loop...it took alot of work to make that fence line. Does anyone know the history of the land that the park is on and who made it and why that fence line is there?
