    Dangerfield State Park

Can anyone tell me about Dangerfield SP? We have never been there but are planning to go sometime this spring or summer. We have a TT and I was wanting to know what some of you think the best sites might be and what you think about the park. Thank you.

Do not tell any one but that is one of the nicest parks in Texas. We already have reservations for the Fourth of July and a few days before. (we have a 23 ft trailer also)
With a trailer Big Pine section (has 10 sites with water /electric and sewage) is the best choice, otherwise Dogwood has 15 water/ electric sites. It is not a big park which is a charm

Its a nice small secluded park, no noisy boats, nice trail around the Lake and in the trees, there is a short video linked below. TPWD: Pineywoods Videos

Enjoy, if you need more PM me

As Troop198 said, this is a good little park. During the fall, it has some of the best color in Texas. For full hook-ups, sites 6 and 7 in the Big Pine campground are probably best. The sites closer to the restrooms tend to be more uneven and even have some buckling. All sites in this area are pull-throughs.

Good fishing pier. Good trails, but a bit short. You can rent canoes there.

Visit Outlaws in town for some very decent BBQ (Highway 259 about 1 mile south of the intersection with Highway 11). Nothing great, but very dependable.

If you run out of things to do in the park, a short day trip to Jefferson is always interesting. There's lots to see and do there.

    Enjoy your trip.

Best park in East Texas. Daingerfield is like time travel, makes me feel like I am a kid again. It has pine trees, hilly topography, little creeks hidden here and there, a perfect lake (which is without the spaceshuttle sized engine bass boat crowd), I think I remember a campsite or two that are right on the waters edge that I wanted the next time we went so we could jump right in the kayak whenever at dawn and paddle on the glass, Dogwood 16 and 17 I think. I have some pictures of the park on my other computer from last summer I will try to post if someone will explain the process of posting photos to me. (I will need idiot instructions, click this, then click here, then click here...sorry). This is a great park, truly me favorite in east Texas.
