Post Colorado Bend State Park

Howdy all,

I reckon I'll do what I can and pass on our Troops campouts, when they are to parks available to all.

We spent two nights at CBSP (formerly Gorman Falls Park), back in September. We hiked in to the primitive area in the dark. It was an easy trail and pleasant, except for the sand spurs (stickerburrs). They were pretty thick and the grass was waist deep in places.

Gorman Falls is interesting. If you're a budding geologist, then seek it out. For most other folks, check out the pictures from the TPWD web page. It's a better view.

We had recent rains and the river was brown, so the fishing was not the best. It did present an opportunity to show the boys how well the water filter systems work.

Happy Halloween and stay safe.
