Well, we spent a few quiet days at Cleburne SP this week. Left out on Monday and came back yesterday (Friday). Had a great trip even though there was nothing real noteworthy. Spent a lot of time sitting at our campfire, watching the birds and the world go by. We were one of five campers in the whole park and two of those were "hosts". We were in site #22 as always and had the whole end of the park to ourselves. Park is in good shape with the lake at just about normal level. Creek is dry so the level may drop a bit over the next months if we don't get more rain.
Tilly, the Camping Bosten Terrier some how got off her leash while DW and I were busy getting the trailer hitched. Both of us about went nuts trying to find her

. After about 10 minutes of walking around and calling her name, she came wondering out of the woods on one of the trails, just like all was normal. Silly mutt

!
Talked to one of the rangers and found out that the old Park Store and beach Shower House is scheduled to come down just after the first of the year. Its about time as this was supposed to have been done with the work that was done on the sewers a couple of years ago. Looks like they had a tough time with some "conservation" groups that thought that the old, worm-eaten building needed to be "saved". For my money, I'll be glad to see it gone.
Well, just thought that some may wish to know what's happening. Get out and enjoy our parks. That's what they're there for!
Happy Camping!
