Got back from a couple of days at Cleburne SP and thought I'd let every one know about conditions at the park. The lake is 4-5 feet low due to lack of rain in this area. It appears that there is no water coming from the springs that normally feed this lake. Have never seen this lake this low. Conditions allowed me to see some things I've never observed before. Interesting but I'd rather have some rain and a full lake.
Also, Tarrant County, Cleburne SP and I expect all of Johnson county are under a "burn ban". Only fire allowed in the park is charcoal and I would suggest great care with that.
Just wanted all to know what's going on prior to heading out. I used this trip to gather all the info I need for a good review of this park. Been meaning to write a review on this park for years. As many times as we go out there, you'd think I'd have done it ages ago. Look for it to be posted in a week or two, with pictures. Until then and always,
Happy Camping!
