Civilian Conservation Corps

The Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) was formed in 1933 as a way to update and maintain aging park infrastructure in the United States and put to work millions of unemployed, Depression-era young people. The project was a resounding success in both regards, and its legacy is visible today in many state and national parks throughout the U.S.

Various Texas State Parks will be celebrating the CCC's 70-year legacy beginning March 31, 2003.
