Burnet County is under a burn ban. Anyone know if the park is allowing fires in the fire rings? I understand that state parks occasionally get exemptions from counties under burn bans for such relatively contained fires.

You'd have to check with the park. Direct call there would be best (512/793-2223). I'm betting that they will be under the ban as well. Inks is a great park, with or without a campfire. Hope you have an outstanding time!

I called the park and was informed that fires in the fire rings are okay as long as they are attended by an adult and there is a water source readily available. Great! Many thanks!
