Just stayed there this past weekend (with 6 boys -- YIKES!) in a pop up camper. Pros: very shady nicely separated sites -- all with full hookups. Even though nearly every space was full Sat. night you weren't 'on top' of each other. Concrete roads/pads, sidewalk-type bike/hike trails. Restrooms OK -- the boys said there was LOTS of hot water (I guess so if it didn't run out after 6 boys showered!). Boat dock where my brother launched his boat. Dock is within 1/4-1/2 mile of CG loops. Swimming in Lake Conroe.

Cons: cost. I'm used to staying in SP's where the cost is (usually) less than $20/night for a W/E site. This was $29/night & NO discount for a NP day pass holder! Also, you make a site-specific ressie & can NOT switch it, even if you get to the park & there's a nicer one vacant & unsigned for. You would have to cancel your old ressie & then make a new res. for the new site, with all the associated fees. Not worth it, IMO. No playground.

Don't know if I would go again because of the price alone. Only if my brother were picking us up there to go boating & it was the only place available.
