While rummaging around Atlanta, Texas we took a short day trip to see Caddo Lake. Very interesting park, heavily wooded and busy on Labor Day weekend. Cabins looked real nice. Lots of pull throughts recommend outside of loop not inside though, some had a drop off. The lake looks like a swamp and has lots of moss on trees
The park has 20 campsites with water only, 18 with water and electric, 8 full sires , 8 screen shelters and 12 other different sized cabins. 2 person cabins - Cabins (#4 & #6) have a microwave, A/C, heat, bathroom with shower, hot water, 300 square foot bedroom with one double bed. But no refrigerator, stove, or fireplace. There is one picnic table and waist high grill outside each cabin.
2 - 4 person cabins - Cabins (#2 & #8) are 600 square feet and have 2 small bedrooms with a double bed in each room, A/C, heat, refrigerator, 2 burner stove, microwave, and a gas fireplace.
For more visit the Texas Parks web site for Caddo.
Activities include camping, hiking, picnicking, nature study, fishing, and boating. Looked like an inviting park and one place we might try on an overnight.
For a very short view, (got distracted and sites although nice were all full and I try not to talk pictures of too many folks I do not know. (sometimes it happens)
