Exclamation Brush Fires: Braunig Lake & Camp Bullis

While doing yardwork for the better part of today (and the weather was *gorgeous* for it!), I heard an incredible number of emergency vehicles. It got so unnerving I even took Sara inside long enough to turn on the local news--which was still running their soap operas, so I knew the world wasn't ending --and CNN. No news, so I just chalked it up to people driving like idiots in the beautiful weather and keeping the emergency and police crews overly busy.

Nope, turns out over 160 acres of Camp Bullis (military training area we just happen to live quite close to) and another wildfire at Braunig Lake (across town from us) are raging today. It was a little windy but has calmed some so hopefully they have contained both blazes or are getting close to doing so. We're in no danger as I never even saw or smelled smoke, so it must not be on the side of the "camp" we live off of.
