I haven't actually done any hiking or camping in the park, but I passed through it in late December. I was on RR 170, which parallels the Rio Grande. I saw both trailheads to the Rancherias Loop. They were vacant. Also, I saw there were a few areas along the Rio, on the south side of the road. I'm not certain if they were for camping or day-use only. However, the park seemed very undeveloped. There were no facilities, other than those already mentioned. The headquarters complex is in Lajitas, before you get to the park. Yet, it looks like it'd be a excellent place to explore. Have fun!
