Sometimes we leave to check out new areas and this trip (3 hours 40 minutes) was longer than most but the reward was a real park that is now high on our list. Atlanta SP is along the south shore of Lake Wright Patman and it provides a nice backdrop among the piney woods. Your almost out of Texas when you get here, but its worth it
Facilities include pull-through and back-in campsites with water and electricity; and pull-through and back-in campsites with water, electricity, and sewer; and a trailer dump station. All campsites have tent pad, picnic table, water, a fire pit, and grill. There is a swim area and playground and 3.5 miles of hiking trails and 1.2 miles of naturetrail. The view over the west water at sunset is real nice also
As I noted this is now high on our list and hope others can get there also. For Labor Day weekend it was full but yet quiet, which made it all worth while.
