Anyone going to be at Inks next week?

We will be there Wed-Sat. in a pop-up. WITH AC!! So we can cool off in the heat of the day. Or go visit Longhorn caverns!! We are going to Krause Springs Monday-Tuesday & do the Canopy Tours thing at Spicewood. Will give a report when I get back.

Re: Anyone going to be at Inks next week?

Hope you have a great time. I really love that park.

Now I won't be at Inks on this trip. We'll be a bit further afield. Like.....

Rocky Mountain National Park!!! Yahoooo!

Been planning this trip for over a year now and it nearly got cancelled a couple of times. Got my shorts for hiking during the day and my woolies for those cold nights. Can't wait!

I figure we're both going to have a great time!

Happy Camping!

Re: Anyone going to be at Inks next week?

We are trying to get a cabin for the 5th. I have 3 days off but there wasn't a cabin avail for the three. I'll take what I can get. Emailed the request just now. Crossing the fingers to get request in before any others. If not, will do something else.

I know this is a Texas camping forum, but I for one sure hope to see your review of RMNP posted somewhere... I was there about ten years ago, and the crowds were starting to get a little nuts, for me. Estes Park was unrecognizable, and traffic heading up the pass seemed like rush hour on 281 (one lane, of course...)

Have a ball and let us here about it.

Re: Anyone going to be at Inks next week?

Have a good trip, Turn Key. We'll be at Rocky July 5th through 12th. I'm a little worried about the crowds in Estes also. Maybe they will be less after the holiday.
Once we are adjusted to the altitude, our game plan is to be at the trailhead early to avoid the multitudes and then be off the upper reaches of the mountain by early afternoon when thunderstorms begin to build.

Make notes of the trails you hike and I'll do the same. Enjoy.

Re: Anyone going to be at Inks next week?

There will be trip reviews with pictures, to be sure! Figuring on more then one as we will also be visiting Leadville and Durango. This is going to be a near 3 week trek!

Tod, our plan is pretty much the same as your's with an early start each day. I understand that it's best to back in camp by about mid-afternoon. Keep an eye out for me as we'll both be there at the same time. Most of the time I should be wearing an off-white Breezer hat or a grey cap with the "PUX" (Pop-UP Explorer) logo on it. You never know. Our paths may cross.

Happy Camping!

Re: Anyone going to be at Inks next week?

What a smile on my face when I opened the email of a confirmed reservation. It was like when you get home from work and see you've won an E=bay bid for something cool.

It's just for wednesday night so we'll head up in the morning, and leave thursday late afternoon. I might drag some extended family along since they are in town anyways. Should be nice.

As for you lucky ones escaping the heat of Texas, have an awesome time up there.

I'll be wearing an off-white Tilley Hat. I might even wear my light green T-shirt that says on it "We Be Hiking".
There are so many trails to choose from and so little time to hike them. Plus the wife has her agenda.
