Any cabins for rent in SE Texas?

Hello All,

Does anyone know of a place around Beaumont/Port Arthur or in sw La. around Lake Charles where there are cabins to rent for a weekend?

You've probably already checked our Texas Web Guide, which currently shows 0 results for "beaumont" + "cabin" or "port arthur" + "cabin".

However, you might want to check out Web Guide's "Lodging > Cabins" category -- there are several statewide resources listed that may help.

Thanks Shannon.

"The rest of the story" as it were, is that I have a friend from high school whose Dad had a fishing camp at Lake Arthur, La (about an hour east of Lake Charles). My friend lives near Lafayette, La. We've been going there a couple of times a year since the mid-1970s to fish, drink and play cards (in that order ).

In the last 8 to 10 years his sons and my son were old enough to go. Strangely, the last few years the only "fishing" we did was to "fish" a new beer out of the ice chest. Neither my friend, his sons nor my son are into backpacking.

My friend's Dad is now in his early 70s and sold the camp last summer. Neither of us has a camper and he's not much on tents.

That's why I thought I'd ask the question. I'll keep looking.

Thanks again.

Yes, I have friends, but sadly, they are few and geographically dispersed.

Yep, still on for April. I'm starting my "training" the first week in January.
