Exclamation WildTexas.com Server Outage

My apologies to everyone for the WildTexas.com server outage the past 48+ hours. If you managed to get through to the website at all since Saturday morning, you were among the very few able to do so!

The reason we were offline for so long? Unfortunately, after 4 years of nearly flawless service, the company whose computer runs our website experienced unexpected and severe hardware and software problems. These issues were only resolved several minutes ago, allowing WildTexas.com to go back online.

If you tried to send me any email in the past 2 days, it is unlikely to ever reach me and should be resent if possible. Again, my apologies for the downtime and corresponding frustration.

Glad to see you back! Try not to let that happen again as the site was missed !

Re: WildTexas.com Server Outage

Oy, I don't think my heart and brain cells could take another outage!

Hopefully, WildTexas.com will be back to it's ol' reliable self now that it is hosted on a brand new computer system. I don't want to jinx us, but perhaps the site will even be a little more spry (faster) now...

I'm still poking around the website to ensure everything got restored properly. If anyone notices a gremlin or two, don't hesitate to let me know. My email should be working normally again, and I've got to hit the sack soon so I can make good use of tomorrow now that the server's back online!

I lied, I didn't go to sleep until 4:15 AM CST this morning... and I woke up at 8:15 AM. Ah, the wonders of caffeine (a legal, artificial stimulant!)

We experienced some additional, intermittent downtime around 3 AM CST but it was of a fairly short duration. We and our web host will be monitoring the website closely for the next several days to ensure everything is resolved.

Darned those pesky bugs!

Shan:

Thank you very much for returning the most reliable source on Texas Parks on the web! I certainly missed it. If I could of gotten a hold of you I would have offered my web desiging and hosting knowledge.

I have visited in the past two weeks Blanco State Park, Boerne Lake and Boerne City Park, Guadalupe State Park, Canyon Lake Parks and this coming weekend I would like to visit Lake Buchanan or Inks Lake.

Thank you for the hard work and park reviews.

Carlos
