Welcome to Wild Texas, Gina! We are thrilled to have you. My li'l one is coming up on her first birthday--March 15. Time certainly marches along quite speedily!
I'm so happy I found these forums! My little boy (just-turned-12 and not so little anymore, wah!) and I used to go camping a lot, but it's so hard doing all that by myself. Plus, last time we went (several years ago) some huge storm rolled in and we had to evacuate the campground. Taking down a big ole' tent by my 5' self, in the dark, in the pouring rain, was about as much fun as a root canal with no novocaine. We haven't been since.
But he is old enough (and tall enough!) to really be a big help now, and the weather has been SO nice, we're going to head up to Double Lake next weekend. I love that place, and can't wait to camp there again.
Anyways, I just wanted to introduce myself real quick and say hi, and I'm looking forward to chatting with y'all!

Thanks for the warm welcome!
The time flies by SO fast, doesn't it?? I swear, it was just last month when he had those chubby toddler cheeks and loved watching "Blue's Clues"...But he's growing up to be such an amazing young man -- and we truly have so much fun together.
As for the avatar, I love it too! It's the Disney Magic, our home-away-from-home if we're not at Walt Disney World. Occasionally we're even here in Pearland. LOL
The weather's looking great for next weekend -- can't wait to go camping! I just need to start some kind of single-parent-campout group so that I have other people to go with sometimes. The more, the merrier, around a campfire!

Hi. I camp with my son who'll be 11 next month. We could try to get together sometime. If you want to try to arrange something email me privately. My son is ALWAYS looking for another boy to camp with!! I have a pop up BTW and we live behind The Woodlands. We're heading out to West Texas (Ft. Davis) for Spring Break.
We did the Disney Cruise when the kids were young swimming with the dolphins will not be forgotten. Also eating way too much foodbut those Bahama Mamas'

Welcome, crazy4disney,
You are right, time races by so quickly. I am not supposed to be old enough to have 6 grandbabies, but none the less........
Have a great trip.
Sandy
Mmmm... Bahama Mamas... almost as good as the Konk Koolers! We have never gotten to do the dolphin swim, but I sure want to someday.

My folks went there a couple of years ago, and still rave about it.
I'm getting so excited about our camping trip next weekend. I didn't realize how much I missed it! I drug the tent out onto the driveway yesterday -- it was my biggest fear. It got put away wet, like 3 years ago, and I was too frustrated and exhausted to deal with it. I was afraid it would be a big mildewed mess and a total loss. But it's a great tent, and looks just perfect! Not a spot of mildew anywhere! I heart my tent.
