TX P & W Expo

So who's going? This will be DS & my first trip there. He chose it over the fall campout with his Scout troup & a day trip to Moody Gardens in Galveston! So I hope there's plenty of things for him to do/see/shoot there!

We couldn't get into McKinney Falls SP (first choice) but found a nice little RV park at Cedar Creek on 71. Mapquest says it's only 22 minutes away--LOL!

If you like the outdoors, you won't be disappointed.
There is so much to see and do. Just remember to attend the safety orientation when you first arrive. It is required if you want to do any shooting. I hope ya'll have a wonderful weekend.

Re: TX P & W Expo

WOW!! Awesome, it was just awesome!! My son got to shoot lots of weapons but his favorite was the 12g. shotgun! We saw Tom Knapp's shooting demo & now my son has a new hero!

There is So much to see & do I don't know how you could possibly cover it all in 1 day. We were there 6.5 hours the first day & 4.5 today. We still didn't get to see/do everything but we had to come home..... I STILL missed the Sea World show & the Last chance hawk show. Well, maybe next year.

All the volunteers/representatives are SO patient with the kids. TEaching them how to aim, hold the whatever, shoot the target -- I never got the feeling that it was 'hurry up & let's get on to the next one'.

And FREE!! We only spent $$ for lunch. Even the water stands they had all around the park were a Godsend. I learned after yesterday to take an empty water bottle with me to fill at those blessed yellow Coleman barrels!

We thoroughly enjoyed our FIRST time, but it certainly won't be our last!

Re: TX P & W Expo

I told you so!!!
We had the same problem ya'll had, when we first went. We ran out of time.
You couldn't have found a better place to visit with friendly people wanting to help you.
The number of people that attend this event is amazing. My family used to work the 4-H air rifle booth. The number of kids that went through the site
was unbelievable. I do miss it.
I am glad ya'll had a good time!!!
