I second that! You folks are photographers, the site ought to be overrun with pictures of the "boss"
If you do not agree with the "boss" reference, just try ignoring that 3am feeding...
You did'nt think you would get off that easy. Time for a update.![]()

Hehe... I got scolded last time for inundating WildTexas with baby related stuff, so I figured ya'll wouldn't appreciate daily/weekly updates.
We have a blog/online journal that includes the latest on Sara and our foray into first time parenthood --
Baby Sara updates: GeekHabitat.com - Parenthood section
And what everyone really wants to see, is our Flickr photo feed with some of the latest photos of Sara and her adoring relatives --
Baby Sara Photos
(You are right, we have taken over 500 photos in just her first 10 days; today we've been busy and, gasp, it's 5 PM and we haven't taken any photos of her yet! Hehe)
Sara is awesome, and she's completely over her jaundice and jaundice-induced lethargy. As of two days ago, she had not only regained her birth weight, but surpassed it. Our little girl is growing! She's now roughly 7 lbs. and we already can see changes in her face (chubbier cheeks!), fingers (not as skinny, still too darned cute), etc.
We actually all left the house together today as a family, first to get Sara's carseat checked by a certified carseat installer (we passed with flying colors, thanks to my father's installation help) and then, feeling emboldened by that success, we headed to (where else?) Babies 'r Us to wander the store and buy some baby supplies -- mostly extra changing table sheets and such that, now that we have the little whipper-snapper, we realize the error of our "surely ONE or TWO will be enough, right?" pre-baby thinking.
Sleep is a commodity in short supply, but it's more than made up for by our being absolutely smitten with Sara and amazed at her every time we look at her or hold her.

2 Week Old / 2 Weeks Post-Op Update
Sara and I doing great. She had her first checkup with the pediatrician yesterday and she's now 6 lb. 12 oz. (was 6 lb. 6.5 oz. at birth and 5 lb. 14 oz. when discharged from the hospital 3 days post-birth.) She's also now 19 1/4 inches long, vs. the 18.5 inches long she was at birth. She continues to be an ace breastfeeder and she is a joy to have around... even at 3 AM after deciding to feed once every 60 minutes some nights.
I'm doing well. I had my 2 week post-op checkup with my obstetrician today (actually, one of her partners, since she was rushing off to the OR to perform an emergency C-section when I arrived.) My incision's healing and except for some pain from them having to wrestle Sara out, I'm cleared to resume driving (yay!) and resume light exercise -- walking, mostly, until I get up the nerve and stamina to resume cycling (that, and until my first time parent nerves allow me to freely leave her with someone other than Justin for more than 1 hour. Today was my first time away from the house and away from her *at all* in 2 weeks, and it felt surreal/strange.
Justin's on paternity leave through next week, and we're both amazed at how quickly time is passing. It seems like just yesterday we were going through the emotions of realizing she was going to be arriving several weeks early (due to pre-eclampsia), and suddenly we have a 2 week old?
Keep checking the photo gallery link. One or two new photos are added almost daily.

Sounds like you and Justin are doing just fine ,keep up the good work. And keep up the updates when you can.Oh,:asleep: and get some sleep.:asleep:
Here's the obligatory Wild Texas Baby Updatesince it's been awhile:
Sara is just now a little over 2 months old and is doing terrific. She received her 2-month-old vaccinations last Tuesday and both she and her folks (Justin and I) fared well. She is up 2 pounds and about 2 inches since birth, which makes her still a tiny bit o' a thing, but tracking normally on the growth charts -- 8 lb. 12 oz. and 21 inches long (more info...)
For those wanting to see a little more, here you go:
multimedia of Sara (one audio "podcast" and one short video clip, as well as the 17-week ultrasound video I think I posted during our pregnancy.)
And for all the photos we've publicly shared of her, enjoy Our Baby Photo Galleries (segmented by month).
No camping photos with Sara yet, but those will come in time!

Time for another update, of sorts, this time in the form of a video --
This is posted on my GeekHabitat.com blog in the entry: http://geekhabitat.com/1003/a-conversation-with-sara/
It's a silly little video of me talking to Sara on Tuesday morning. We had a great talk and I happened to catch it all on videotape for posterity. Enjoy!

Apologies for my baby talk voice. It comes with the territory when you're chatting with your 3-month-old.
Love,

So precious! Love those toes!!! I remember so well those hours spent just talking to and watching my first child. By the time the second one comes along you are off and running and don't have the kind of time to just gaze in wonder. Enjoy these wonderful times as they pass quickly!
Who needs sleep when you have this beauty with you 24/7?
She loves this outfit because the belt tassles were great fun to play with in her hands!
And here's one last photo taken yesterday (Saturday), this one showing Justin and Sara already have quite a good father/daughter bond forged. They light each other up!
