Welcome aboard, ISITA75. Let me wish you an early "Welcome to Texas"! Hope you can find what you need here and have an easy relocation.
Can't help a lot with your question. DS is a graduate of Lubbock Christian University so DW and I did spend some time there but not enough to really be of any help. I will say that I did rather like the city and it seemed to have a lot going for it. I know that DS enjoyed his time there.
Again, hope you can find what you need and have a smooth transition.
